About Our Program
Big Picture Athletics (“BPA”) is a community organization that provides high level athletic programs and and exposure events for student athletes on the Central Coast. BPA is committed to assisting in the development of student athletes who have a passion for sports and a desire to excel in academics, ethics, and citizenship. BPA believes that sports is an avenue that can lead to successful futures.
Meet the Founder
J.T. was an all CIF quarterback and basketball player for Dos Pueblos High School in the mid 90’s. Following high school, J.T. took his talent to Santa Barbara City College where he was a record-breaking quarterback for the Vaqueros. He continued his success at the quarterback position and finished his career at West Texas A&M University.
J.T.’s coaching credentials span over 16 years. He has contributed his football knowledge and expertise to a number of teams as a position coach, offensive coordinator and head football coach. He has a passion for sports and possesses the ability to connect with youth.
After his playing career, he held the position of juvenile institution officer at the Santa Barbara County Juvenile Probation Department, where he supervised and mentored at-risk youth. He also volunteered his time at the Boys & Girls Club of Goleta under legendary Sal Rodriguez. It was there, that he realized his dream of using athletics as a platform to help young people reach their goals. He is committed to affecting the lives of local youths through the BPA program.
